How to Change Your Assignment Due Dates Faster

How do I use the Moodle Text Editor?

The Atto text editor (sometimes referred to as the 'HTML editor') has many icons to assist the user in entering content. Many of these icons and functions should be familiar to anyone who uses a word processor. This text editor was built especially for Moodle, and you will find it in many of the activities and resources.

What templates for Moodle exist?

Faculty are encouraged to follow the arrangement of items in the Moodle Template* so that students have a consistent layout and student experience from course to course. Innovative and engaging arrangements and course styles that enhance the student experience through increased navigation, and improved usability and accessibility are encouraged.

*Templates can be adjusted to fit a 6, 7, 12 or a 15-week course format.

Moodle Course Design Exemplars
Every instructor’s Moodle course site is unique, but individual faculty members are strongly encouraged to build their Moodle course site for their particular course sections upon the Moodle Design Checklist and Moodle Design Template.

How do I add a Submission for a student?

Step 1

Step 2

Locate the student, click on Edit, and then click on Edit Submission.

Step 3

You can add a submission for the student using the file picker or by dragging and dropping a file. Don't forget to click Save when complete.

Taking Attendance When You Have Cross-listed Courses

  • Faculty can enter attendance in any of the courses that are cross-listed.
  • Open 1 of the courses in the attendance area.
  • Though each cross-listed section is listed in attendance, they all have the same students listed.
  • If faculty take attendance in one class, the attendance will auto populate the other class or classes (in that cross-listed course). Attendance will appear as completed.
