Using The Syllabus Template for Your Classes

The Culinary Institute of America strongly encourages use of the syllabus template attached at this link.

Why Use a Template?

  • As we know, syllabi are crucial documents for faculty and students.
  • They serve as a roadmap of what is expected in the class.
  • They provide important information, such as how the student will be assessed.
  • Most syllabi include details that should be defined for every class, such as course objectives
  • Using a consistent overall design and choosing a standard location to place the syllabus helps students and faculty.
  • Students are able to find the most essential elements quickly.
  • Faculty have a reminder of all necessary components laid out for them.
  • Our goal is to facilitate syllabus consistency without compromising faculty’s creative content and additions.
