Conference Proposals & Presentations Help Guide

Why Present at a Conference?

Presenting at a conference offers several valuable professional opportunities:

  • Network with others with similar interests.

  • Enhance your resume and your interview potential.

  • Advance your scholarship.

What is a Call for Proposals?

A conference announcement and a call for proposals briefly explains the content to be presented at the conference. This is an invitation for researchers, practitioners, or experts to submit abstracts or proposals for the purpose of contributing their related work to the conference.

Calls for Proposals typically include:

  • An explanation of the conference theme.

  • Guidelines for presentations.

  • Requirements for abstracts/proposals.

  • Deadlines for submitting the proposals.

What is a Conference Proposal?

A conference proposal is a document that proposes what you would like to present for the conference. Usually a review committee or the conference organizer will evaluate these and make the choices about who will present.
