CIA California Library: Home

About the Library

The Margie Schubert Library at the CIA at Greystone is located on the third floor of the main building adjacent to the teaching kitchens and is also home to the Learning Strategies Center, which provides tutoring services, testing accommodations, and disability services.  Through a special arrangement, students may also borrow books from the St. Helena Public Library, which has an outstanding collection on wines.

Resources are also available from the Culinary Institute of America's Conrad N. Hilton Library at the Hyde Park, NY campus. Search Omnivore for full-text articles and ebooks. Print books can be requested thru Interlibrary Loan. The library houses an outstanding cataloged collection of over 60,000 volumes, 1,000 DVDs and videos, 150 current periodical subscriptions, and 80 subject-specific research databases containing over 24,000 e-journals and e-magazines. Although there is a strong specialization in the culinary field, the collection also has liberal arts materials that support the college's ever-expanding educational programs. Hilton Library staff are available to help and provide research assistance. Students at CIA California are welcome to contact us via email or make an appointment for a web conference.
