This guide provides step-by-step directions and guidance on using various software tools to enhance student engagement. It will include guidance on Microsoft Office and several other tools.

This guide introduces you to a variety of methods to engage your students in learning. It includes instructions on using technology tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Teams.

Three levels of student engagement  

  • Cognitive engagement – complex problem-solving and thinking skills.   
  • Emotional engagement – feelings and emotions that your students have in your class.  
  • Behavioral engagement – observable actions that indicate cognitive or behavioral engagement, and some examples are note-taking, nodding, and looking puzzled.
