Moodle Guide

The development of this guide is ongoing; we will continue adding Moodle LMS Tips, Guides, and Instructions. On the left-hand sidebar, you will find a list of Moodle LMS features or options. To learn more about that option or feature, click on the link.

Manually Grading Quiz Questions

Often, you will include open-ended questions in quizzes, and Moodle will not be able to grade them automatically. I would not let this deter you from adding meaningful questions to a quiz.

Step 1

Open the Quiz on the Course Main Page and Click on Results.

Step 2

Click Manual Grading to access all the quiz questions by all the users that need to be graded.

Step 3

Click on the Grade, Update Grade, or Grade All link. •	You will only view the questions that require manual grading. If you click Grade All, you will view all the manually graded questions on one page.

Step 4

You can control how many questions are on one page and the order of the questions. Every open-ended question will appear in this scroll. Attempts are organized by questions. When grading a response, you can leave comments, and you must give a value for the Mark. When you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a save button. Save often.
