These instructions are for faculty members who encounter an issue with a Moodle Question Bank while importing a course.
When the question bank becomes too large, sometimes your import will freeze or take a long time to process. You may need to import the course without the question bank.
Note: Please contact Maureen Beam or Kyle Wright if you would like us to walk you through these steps. We are here to help.
After you have jumped to the final step, your course will refresh with content. Your Quizzes are available on your Course Shell, but they will contain no questions.
Option 1 – Rewrite your questions from scratch.
Option 2 – Find the questions from the old class and then copy and paste each part into your empty quizzes.
Option 3 – For multiple choice quizzes, you may export them from the old quiz and then import them into the new quiz.
Open both Moodle courses in a browser window. Open the Quiz and add a quiz to the new course.
Complete the settings in the new quiz and then open Questions on both Quizzes.
Click on a question in the older Quiz. This will open up the Quiz. Select all of the question text and press CRTL-C to copy it.
Add a new question of the same type in the new quiz. Press CRTL-V to paste the content into the question text box.
