Kaltura Help Guide

This is a comprehensive Guide to the Kaltura Video Platform. It includes instructions for: (1) creating and uploading videos, (2) creating interactivity in Kaltura Videos, and (3) adding Kaltura videos to Moodle.

Saving Media to the Shared Repository

There is a Shared Repository that allows you to publish a Kaltura video to it. This video can then be accessed by other professors from the Shared Repository. To save a video to the Shared Repository you will first need to Publish it.

Differences between Private and Published
Whenever any media is first saved to the Kaltura Video Platform, the Publishing Status must be set to Private. After you have saved it to Private you can then save it to Published.

  • A Private Status means that the video will only be visible by the owner.
  • A Published Status means that the media will be visible to all users based on the gallery.

Step 1

Add any type of Video to your Kaltura Media Playlist.

Upload any type of video to MyMedia.

Step 2

Once you have filled in all of the corresponding information of your video, scroll to the bottom and then click Save.

Scroll to the bottom and click Save.

Step 3

Once you have Saved your media the first time, then select Published.

Change the publishing status and select The Shared Repository in the first gallery list

Step 5

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save, Go to Media, or Go to MyMedia.

Scroll down and click "save"
