Kaltura Help Guide

This is a comprehensive Guide to the Kaltura Video Platform. It includes instructions for: (1) creating and uploading videos, (2) creating interactivity in Kaltura Videos, and (3) adding Kaltura videos to Moodle.

Adding Kaltura Video to a Moodle Textbox

Anywhere in Moodle, where you access the Textbox, you can insert a Kaltura Video. This can be helpful if referencing a video on a Moodle Page, Book, or an assignment or topic description.

Step 1

Select the Kaltura Icon on the Moodle Textbox Toolbar.

Select the Kaltura logo button on the Toolbar.

Step 2

From the pop-up window, you can access the Shared Repository and Embed a video into the activity, or you can embed a video from your MyMedia

Note. Any instructor can upload a video to the Shared Repository. Once you click on Shared Repository you will be directed to a list of videos in the repository. The layout of the pop-up window is identical in the Shared Repository or your own MyMedia.

Click on Shared Repository or you can embed a video that is in your MyMedia.

Step 3

Once you select “Embed,” the pop-up window will close, and you will see an HTML string that links to the Kaltura video.

Note. You can copy and paste this HTML code anywhere in the text area to change the location of the video.

You will see an HTML string that with the name of the Kaltura video

 

Step 4

Click Save and Return to Course or Save and Display.
