Rubric and Marking Guides can be created directly in your Moodle Course and used to record grades and feedback for your students.
Out of Moodle's grading types, the rubric offers the learner the most guidance and feedback. It would help to draft your rubrics in a Word document and then copy them to the Moodle rubric parts.
A Marking Guide will provide students with a description of the criteria, how many points were earned, and the maximum value of the criteria. Unlike a rubric, a marking guide does not have a performance continuum and therefore does not provide as much feedback as a rubric.
While Marking Guides provide more feedback to the student than a comment section, you should strive to use rubrics where appropriate.
